For a number of years Hopethiopia has been working alongside the local and regional governements to help expand the Harbu Chulule school system. Two years ago school stopped at grade 10 and there was little opportunity for students to progress beyond this level.
With lots of effort form many different parties Hopethiopia was able to provide computers and IT equipment, provide lots of IT training, provide science equipment, and help with significant electrical system upgrades. All these efforts helped in the opening up of the grade 11 class
This was a very historic moment for the community of Harbu Chulule as there has never been a graduating class before. Now students from this community will have the opportunity to continue on to post secondary school education and become the future leaders and innovators in the country.
