Community Team Arrives in Ethiopia!

Hello friends and family of HOPEthiopia!

Jennifer Kohlhammer (formerly Jennifer Dubienski) here…Ralph & Glenda’s oldest daughter. I am writing to inform you of the most recent adventures of the HOPEthiopia team, as internet is apparently hard to come by where they are.
After arriving safe and sound in Ethiopia this past weekend, the team of eight took a moment or two to relax and recover from jet-lag before they were up-and-at-’em; there was reforestation to be done! They spent the day on Monday retrieving and planting trees across the Ethiopian countryside – more than one thousand trees in all!  This is just the beginning, however; the goal is to plant many hundreds of thousands of trees over the next few years.  Thank you to those of you who helped support the team in the initial stages of this reforestation initiative. Remember: just $1 can buy 10 trees for Ethiopia! Visit our Canada Helps page and give to the “Reforestation Project” to buy trees for Ethiopia today!

Today and tomorrow, the team will spend time in a local high school, speaking with 100 students – 50 girls and 50 boys – about what their Ethiopian communities look like now, and how they hope to see these communities grow and change in the future. This workshop should be thought-provoking and eye-opening for all parties involved!

Please continue to keep the HOPEthiopia team in your thoughts and prayers over the next couple of weeks. While their schedule is going to be action-packed, this trip is more about building relationships with the right people than it is about doing.

Thank you so much for your ongoing support of HOPEthiopia; none of the good work that’s being done would be possible without you. For more updates (pending internet access for the Ethiopia team), check out the following links:
